Synopsis

At the funeral of her former lover Martin, Olga recalls her intense passion with him until he left her a year ago. Lost in her memories, she realises how emotionally dependent on him she was, showing that even though she considered herself a free, empowered woman, love had always meant a certain contradiction for her.
At the same time, Olga, who is a lecturer, is correcting a thesis that, based on various works of literary and art history, explores how women have been taught that love must be the centre of their lives.
Interspersing the characters’ experiences with reflections on artists in different spheres, Karmele Jaio has crafted an ambitious novel, one that is easy to read but makes a profound mark, inviting readers to think about themselves.

Since then it has been very active as both a publisher and a record label, promoting the literary and musical works of writers and musi- cians and, at the same time, helping to fill gaps in and fulfil the needs of our culture. Thanks to the work carried out in these years, Elkar’s catalogue cur- rently holds more than 2,500 works.
