The publishers of Pamiela and Txalaparta, Garazi Arrula and Lander Majuelo, together with the coordinator of the Association, will travel there, thanks to the European project Lit-Up in which Euskal Editoreen Elkartea participates.
The KROKODIL Association, a partner of the Lit-Up project, organises the annual KROKODIL Literary Festival. The festival, which was primarily conceived as a regional event dedicated to the promotion of dialogue, reconciliation and the reconstruction of broken ties, particularly in the overlapping regions of the Western Balkans and Southeast Europe, soon became increasingly international and has become one of the most distinctive and popular events in the region, exploring the most important cultural, political and social issues of the day.
Combining different formats, such as readings, couch interviews, panel discussions, workshops, press conferences, film and other audiovisual content, KROKODIL has, over the course of its 15 annual “editions”, presented hundreds of distinguished writers, artists and public figures from numerous countries.
Among them are: Bernhard Schlink, Irvine Welsh, Hanif Kureishi, Margaret Atwood, László Krasznahorkai, Georgi Gospodinov, Dubravka Ugrešić, Aleksandar Hemon, Mira Furlan, Boris Buden, Ivan Krastev, etc.
The Festival has a large, very loyal and committed audience.
In this context, Basque publishers will attend dynamic meetings between publishers, known as “speed dating”. Publishers working in 6 countries and 9 language markets will participate.
