Main aims and activities

In addition to protecting the interests of its members, the association also aims to promote the publication and reading of works written in the Basque language.

To this end, the association engages in many different activities. The following are some of the most important:

  • In collaboration with the Durango Basque Book and Record Fair we help monitor, reinforce and improve the organisational work involved in the event.
  • We participate in international book fairs (Bologna, Liber, Frankfurt, Guadalajara) with the aim of expanding the market for Basque literature. * We are a member of the Basque committee for the European organisation Literature Across Frontiers (LAF)
  • We promote Basque literature dissemination activities and the publication of catalogues of available copyrights.
  • We promote reading in collaboration with the media.
  • We are a member of the Publishers’ Galeusca.
  • We are a member of Euskararen Gizarte Erakundeen Kontseilua
  • We regularly collaborate with CEDRO
